Fountain Launches The Unforgotten Bureau

I have launched The Unforgotten Bureau (for Social Justice Journalism at FountainWorks.) FountainWorks is an independent journalism and media not-for-profit dedicated to telling the untold and under-told stories of marginalized and underserved African-American communities in Chicago and its mostly Black suburbs. And because you are already subscribed to 50 Cent A Word, you get a free and automatic subscription to the Unforgotten Bureau! Additionally, I am announcing the City Turns Cold project I led my students in producing on the subject of homelessness in Chicago and across America. The Unforgotten Bureau on Substack is a different although related platform from 50 Cent A Word. It is an extension of my own work and also the projects in which I have led my students as a professor at Roosevelt University from conception through fruition.
The 50 Cent A Word Substack, on the other hand, is the digital home for my own individual reporting projects and social commentary that over the last 15 years alone have won numerous local, regional and national awards.
So what does this all mean to you?
Well, it means that hopefully we’re going to be bringing you more of what you’re looking for! More compelling stories and commentary, more insight and excellent reporting and inspired writing.
